With a remarkable track record in womenswear, menswear, active sportswear, plus-size fashion and concept design, Yi drives results by combining a high-level design sensibility with a sharp sense of brand storytelling and an astute understanding of business strategy.

Yi offers profound expertise in fostering, re-defining and elevating brands. Her innovative product design and creative vision connect emotionally with consumers and promote sustainable commercial growth. The depth of Yi’s experience with global brands spans leadership design roles at Nike, Converse, American Eagle’s Martin + Osa, as well as her start-up DTC brand See ROSE Go, featured by Forbes for bringing Nike know-how to plus-size fashion. Her namesake ready-to-wear line Yi Zhou, received rave reviews in Asian fashion press.

Throughout Yi’s career, whether designing for global brands or personal collections, she has been inspired by timeless classics with a modern twist. As a passionate and dynamic leader, she directs and inspires her design team, from initial concept to full product creation.

Born in China, Yi was a spirited kid and was plucked out of thousands of kids at the age of 8 to be trained as a junior martial arts fighter! She moved to the Netherlands at the age of 10 and her interests developed in a new direction; Fashion Design. She attended the renowned Amsterdam Fashion Institute where she graduated Cum Laude, her collection winning the Best Student of the Year Award.

Since then Yi has lived and worked in Hong Kong and New York and her diverse cultural background and creative vision allow her to navigate seamlessly across the full spectrum of corporate and entrepreneurial brand cultures that represent today’s evolving market.

Yi is currently based in New York City and she has two young boys who keep her on her toes and provide fresh inspiration on a daily basis.
